---------- Froze and lost the first part of th meeting ---------

[14:25] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): and with the long view in mind. What is best for the caste as a whole? What will preserve the smooth, vital machinations of this city as we move into a time of rebuilding and renewal?”  She clasped her hands loosely before her.

“If there have been tensions, let them be soothed. If there have been disagreements, let them be set aside. The ink we spill today is not for ourselves—but for the future of Selnar".  With that, she turned her head slightly toward the man that stood to her left

“Cornelius,” she said, her voice softening as she gestured toward him with a slight incline of her head, “before the voting commences, would you care to speak?”

[14:29] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing) notably follows Lady Kaela's gaze

[14:35] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) turned his head toward Kaela, then stepped forward with solemn composure. One hand found the edge of the podium, steadying him as he regarded the assembly before him, not as individuals, but as a body, unified by ink, thought and duty.

“My thanks, Lady Kaela,” he said, voice calm, deliberate. “And to you all, Scribes of Selnar.”

He let the silence stretch a moment more, anchoring his presence in it.

“Each of you,” he resumed. “Stood tall when the waters rose. Not with steel or command, but with clarity. With maps, with ledgers, with the calm order of classification. It was our caste that triaged the records, safeguarded the archives, relayed information to the Builders, to the Warriors, to the very heart of the Ubarate. And when panic threatened to overtake the city, it was the firm hand of the Scribes that redrew the plans, recalculated the supplies, reorganised what others had let fall into chaos.”

His eyes moved slowly across the room. “You did this. Every one of you. You have

[14:35] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen): shown the city what it means to be a Scribe. Not just a keeper of scrolls, but a beacon of order when all else unravels.”

He paused, letting the weight of that truth settle.

“And now,” he continued, voice steady and low. “We find ourselves not only recovering from nature’s wrath, but from subtler threats. Crimes on the street against our Free Women scribes. You have seen them. Whispers in the alleys. Pressures from without. Agendas that do not speak plainly, yet move swiftly beneath the surface. We must not be naive to them. We must not be soft. We must stand firm against those who would belittle our Caste, when truth is that we are the highest level of caste, bar the Initiates. To be sure, for the Free Women of the Scribes, you hold the highest caste you can ever reach, even beyond the Ubara. That is the weight of your caste and the burden of responsibility you have. Be worthy of it.”

He straightened slightly, shoulders drawing back. “Leadership in our caste is not a ceremonial matter. It

[14:35] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen): is not for show. The Head of Caste must be the rampart behind which our impartiality is defended. The spine that will not bow to the tempers of factions nor to the fleeting fashions of the Court. We are the interpreters of law, of treaty, of record. We are what history leans on to keep its shape. So be sure that when you vote, vote not just for wisdom, but justice and temperance and courage too. And that is what you will find in me.”

He let his hand fall back to his side.

“This vote, then, is not about legacy, nor favour, nor even vision. It is about rigour. About ensuring that the Caste of Scribes remains untouchable in its integrity and absolute in its service to the Ubarate. Choose with discernment. Cast your vote not with friendship, nor rivalry, nor convenience. Cast it with the weight of a hundred years from now, when another Scribe shall read the ledger you sign this day. Choose with strength. And above all, choose with memory of what we have endured... and what we yet defend.”

[14:35] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) gave a final, deliberate nod, and stepped back beside Kaela without flourish. His place resumed, his silence now sharpened with intent.

[14:39] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) listened to both regarding the voting and inhaled softly.  This was not a decision that she would take lightly.  Quietly she looked between both Cor and Kaela as she deliberated internally.

[14:40] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): She nodded at their words but her decision would not change.

[14:46] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) listened in composed silence, her expression attentive, respectful. His voice—rich, deliberate, and eloquent—filled the hall with the cadence of a man well-acquainted with both rhetoric and responsibility.  He spoke of legacy and logic, of duty and diligence, weaving the purpose of the Scribe Caste into the greater tapestry of Selnar’s fate. His words rang with clarity and calm conviction, and Kaela nodded subtly at intervals—acknowledging not only the truth of his remarks, but their gravity.

When at last he concluded and stepped off the podium, Kaela returned to the front, her steps quiet but certain. She did not attempt to add flourish to what had been spoken—only to give space for it to settle.  “Thank you, Cornelius,” she said simply, with genuine appreciation. “Your words strike the heart of what is needed most in these times: vision, stability, and purpose.”  She turned once more to address the room, her voice now formal and clear.  “The decision now passes into your hands,

[14:46] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): fellow Scribes.”

At her soft clap, the same veiled slave from earlier stepped forward once more, carrying a neat stack of folded parchment slips—each bearing the seal of the Blue Caste at the top.

“She will pass among you now, distributing your voting ballots. Please, take one, and take this moment to consider carefully the future of the Caste of Scribes. Your vote is not just a name—it is a testament to your faith in the order we seek to preserve.”

Kaela gestured toward the rear of the room, where a young apprentice—barely into his training robes—stood nervously but proudly beside a carved wooden ballot box, its lid ajar to receive the scrolls.  “When you have marked your choice, fold your ballot and deposit it into the box held by our apprentice here. If you feel another name should be put forth—outside of the current assistants—you may write that in. All votes will be counted, and all voices heard.”  Kaela allowed her tone to soften slightly, her gaze sweeping the hall.

“This

[14:46] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): is your time to reflect. To think with clarity and intention. Let the weight of your vote be a measure of your care for the caste we all serve.”  With that, she stepped to the side of the podium, folding her hands again and leaving the room in thoughtful silence—so that the decision, now in their grasp, could be made with the care it rightfully deserved.

((On an OOC note:  All you have to do is "touch" the board bearing the name of the person you wish to vote for HoC.  You will see them on the easels behind me next to the cabinet of notecards.  If you wish to write in another name for the position, please IM me))

[14:51] Nicholas Sylvanus (nicholas.crisp) 's brows drew together as the realization of this vote came into focus. He moved to take a ballot from the apprentice, placed his mark, then folded it carefully before depositing it. He had meetings to attend, and therefore, he would be unable to spend more time in the meeting (RL, all)

[14:51] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) retrieved her fountain pen from within her leather satchel as the parchment was handed to her.  Silently she wrote a single name on it, folding the parchment once the ink was dry before she rose from her chair and dropped her vote into the ballot box.  She came to her seat again and waited in silence.

[14:53] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) sniffed as he looked about the room, he did not like the lack of campaigning nor the lack of nominations being opened but that is all minor he pivoted from his original vote and made the one that was the best choice in the now

[14:53] Sylvi Amour votes and hopes her parchment is received without mishap

[14:54] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): She silently writes her name on the ballot paper, there was no doubt about it for her... Folding it in half, she gets up to place it in the ballot box. With a decisive step, she then returns to her seat.

[14:55] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): what am i to be doing?

[14:55] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): and how

[14:55] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): which?

[14:56] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): where?

[14:56] Velantha Lethara wrote her vote down on a piece of parchment, folding it neatly. Not wishing to wade her way through the room she handed to a nearby scribe slave instructing the girl where to place it.

[14:56] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): check your IMs)

[14:57] Analise Bade (chaoticenvy) waited several moments before securing her own vote glancing over to her companion for a moment and then glanced around the room to each of them.

[14:57] Ethereal Moonchild Rhenara wrote her vote in a piece of parchment and folding it offered to the Scribe slave.

[14:58] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) dipped his head to everyone. "Apologies, I must take my leave, alas. I will read the minutes. If anyone has questions, please reach out to me."

[14:58] Rigel Aurelius Rhode (offroadbiking) took a ballot from the slave and tapped a quill against the paper for a moment, pondering his vote before writing a name down. He folded it in half and dropped it into the box.

[15:01] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) dipped her head to Cornelius as he took his leave and after a respectful interval—long enough for quiet contemplation and the soft rustle of ballots being placed into the box—Kaela returned to the front of the room. She waited until the murmurs quieted once more before speaking, her tone both gentle and reassuring.  “If anyone here feels they need more time to reflect on their decision,” she said, “please do not feel rushed. The weight of this vote is considerable, and I would far rather each of you take the time you need than act in haste. You may cast your ballot at any point before the conclusion of our meeting.”

She paused for a moment, offering a nod to the apprentice still holding the ballot box, before continuing.  “Now, for the sake of time, I’d like to offer an update on a matter that has no doubt been on the minds of many: the Magistrates and the legal department.”  Her expression grew more serious as she folded her hands behind her back.

“In the past hand, I was granted

[15:01] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): audience with the Ubar in an effort to seek clarity and direction regarding the current state of judicial oversight in Selnar. I am grateful to say he was forthcoming and receptive.”  She drew in a breath, steady and calm.  “Captain Pertinax Adrastus has officially stepped down from his position as Praetor. This was a decision made with dignity and in accordance with his duties elsewhere. For the time being, the Ubar himself will personally oversee any legal matters requiring intervention, as he contemplates who will next rise to that office.”

“I took this opportunity to petition—formally and respectfully—that the Magistrates and the legal department be returned to the jurisdiction of the Blue Caste. The Ubar has agreed to consider this carefully. While no official ruling has yet been issued, he did express understanding of the value we bring to the maintenance of law and order within the city."  She allowed a slight pause before pressing forward.  “In the interim, the Blue Caste will resume

[15:01] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): the task of appointing Magistrates and advocates to ensure the legal mechanisms of the city do not falter. Until a formal High Magistrate is appointed or announced, the Ubar will act in that capacity.”

Her tone remained calm, but firm, assuring the Caste of continuity and control.  “Should any of you wish to be considered for an advocate or magistrate role, please seek out Cornelius or myself privately after this meeting. We will need sharp minds and steady hands.”  Kaela then looked out across the room once more and opened her arms slightly in invitation.  “I will now open the floor for any questions or concerns regarding this matter. You need not stand—simply raise your hand, and I will acknowledge you in turn.”

With that, she stepped back slightly from the desk, eyes scanning the hall, ready to receive the thoughts of her fellow Scribes.

[15:05] Sylvi Amour sitting in a chair in the corner of the conference room she would listen attentively.

[15:06] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): Edith slowly raises her hand to ask to speak.

[15:08] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) nods to Lady Edyth and says, "You have the floor, Lady Edyth"

[15:08] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): I was wondering if Selnar was ready and motivated to consider a female magistrate candidacy... many cities have accepted them... perhaps given the majority of females in the blue caste, it would be interesting to discover new talent...

[15:10] Sylvi Amour nods and nods

[15:10] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) smiled gently to the woman and said, "Lady Edyth, that is something that many of us have been fighting fro from day one.  At this time, unfortunately, that is a no but it is something we continue to bring to the forefront of conversation.  I believe that our female advocates, like Lady Gloria, whom was hailed unceremoniously in the last edition of the Kraken Krier, will continue to show that the capability and tenacity is there"

[15:12] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): She leans back slowly in her chair * I understand... the time is not yet ripe apparently.... thanks for your kind reply *

[15:13] Velantha Lethara exhaled a sigh, feeling as if an unsolvable riddle has been proposed, "How reassuring. Imagine the catastrophe should jurisprudence fall into the hands of a mind trained from birth at the art of record keeping, citation and neutrality."

[15:14] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) smiled gently and dipped her head to her once more.  "Of course, Lady Edyth.  Anyone else?"  And she would wait a few more moments only to nod in agreement with lady Velantha but she would wait to see if there were any other questions before moving on.

[15:16] Tee'lar [deadstone.carter] pulls out of hours of drafting, and redrafting, a business proposal on desk next to the scribe building's entrance. He looks around, takes a breath, and dives in again.

[15:20] Velantha Lethara lifted her hand, "Lady Kaela?"

[15:20] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) dipped her head to Lady Velantha,  "Yes, you have the floor"

[15:22] Velantha Lethara raised her voice only enough to carry across the room, "I'd like to propose a debate on the topic. An argument for and against women holding magistrate positions."

[15:23] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): but yo could be AHoC

[15:23] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing): ooos

[15:24] Kati Evans grins as I will be part of a debate in September on that very subject if I accept the challenge.

---------- Froze ----------

[15:29] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): She raises her hand again.

[15:30] Kiki Silverclaw-Jacobson (elphaba.jinxing) smiles Brother and sister scribes i must leave you for now it has been nice to be here with you all on this momentus occasion and good luck  ((Approaching midnight for me GMT))

[15:30] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) dipped her head to Edyth, "You have the floor, Lady Edyth" and then lifted her hand to Lady Kiki as she took her leave quietly.

[15:31] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): I'll start by saying openly that my vote went to you, Lady Kaela, because I believe in your abilities as a scribe, and you've repeatedly demonstrated your competence. But I wonder: if we've reached the point of appointing a Blue Caste Head, and there's a woman among the candidates, this shows that the City of Selnar seems ready for change and a push forward. So why not complete the task by giving all the female colleagues in this room the opportunity to show what they're capable of and aspire to such a coveted position as Magistrate? The time seems ripe. Appointments for this position should return to the hands of the Blue Caste.

[15:32] Analise Bade (chaoticenvy) looked over at her companion and leaned in to whisper to him, it was time for them to get to their next meeting as well. "I wish you all well." She said and moved off.

[15:32] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) sighed and nodded as he  stood and said " Be well everyone." leaving with ANalise

[15:36] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) would raise his hand.

[15:36] Velantha Lethara would also raise her hand

[15:37] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) listened attentively as Lady Edyth spoke, her expression calm and open, though her eyes gleamed with quiet appreciation at the directness and conviction behind the words.  Her head would dip to both Drevan and Analise as they took their leave and once the lady had finished, Kaela stepped forward once more, voice steady and sincere.

“Lady Edyth,” she began warmly, “thank you—not only for the support you’ve expressed in my candidacy, but for the faith you place in me as both a Scribe and a proponent of progress.”  She inclined her head respectfully toward the woman seated across the chamber.

“Your words are not only heard, but they echo deeply with what I myself believe: that the Blue Caste, if trusted with the stewardship of justice, must reflect both the excellence of our minds and the integrity of our merit—regardless of whether that excellence comes from a man’s hand or a woman’s.”  She let her gaze pass briefly over the other Free Women in attendance, as if to draw them into

[15:37] K A E L A (yenniferrivia):  the sentiment.

“If I am appointed Head of Caste,” she said with quiet conviction, “then I give you my sworn oath that I will do all in my power to see that the legal department returns to the cradle where it belongs—the Blue Caste.  And further,” she continued, “that female advocates—if qualified, if driven, and if proven—may stand and petition for the role of Magistrate as boldly and rightfully as any of their male peers. The law, after all, demands clarity, not convention.”

She paused only briefly before concluding.  “Of course, as you well know, such matters do not rest solely in our hands. The final decision lies with the High Council. But let there be no doubt: I will fight that good fight. And I thank you, Lady Edyth, for reminding us that progress often begins not with a revolution, but with a well-placed question.”  Once again, her gaze shifted over those gathered, a dip of her head given to Hendrix as he rose his hand.  "Councilor, the floor is yours and after that ... Lady

[15:37] K A E L A (yenniferrivia):  Velantha," she said.

[15:41] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): She smiles under her veil, nodding her head.... the seed had been planted, now it needed to be watered and cared for with great study and dedication to the law ---

[15:46] Rigel Aurelius Rhode (offroadbiking) looked over as a messenger silently came in and handed him a note. A few coins were pressed in the man's hand and he departed. Rigel opened the note as quietly as he could and then nodded before moving towards the door. ((IRL calls))

[15:52] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) would nod his head to kaela before his attention turned to edyth "Lady Edyth, while you have a noble goal in your heart and conviction. I would like to shed clarity from a former outsider to this stone that might give prospective to the breadth that your conviction will be tested. As you can see I am a man of the wagons, an outsider to this stone even though I have sworn upon the home stone. There are men within the stone that look not upon this fact but instead upon the trappings that one clothes themselves in. A single misplaced word and you can be branded a heretic by the castes of white, I believe there are many within this stone that would share that opinion. Now while I am a man, I have still been looked upon with gaze that holds no trust.

Now with that being said, even I a man have been looked upon with distrust, though my skill and words have been looked upon in favor by the Ubar and Ubara. Your goal, while noble would be looked upon by some as foolish. There are many men that would not wish to

[15:52] Hendrix (malfaris.burner):  speak to a woman about their ordeals.

Think on these words as I am certain that you have in the past, hold to your conviction but be ready to see that it fails within this stone.

He spoke with a tone that was rather neutral, rather business like, calm and even in cadence

[15:53] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) noticed as more and more begin to leave, curious as to how long the meeting had been so far. She no longer saw Abraham in the room and assumed that all on the agenda had been discussed.  Quietly she rose from her chair, gathered her belongings and nodded politely to those still left. "I have another matter to tend to.  I wish you all well."  ((dinner time))

[15:54] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) listened quietly, a small sigh expelling her lips but she would nod her head in agreement.  "Well spoken, Councilor.  Wise words for us to ponder on.  Lady Velantha?" she questioned, seeing that more and more people were taking their leave.  The meeting had gone longer than anticipated but it wasn't really that surprising.

[15:55] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): I apologize and would like to reply... but it's 1am for me and I work tomorrow... thanks to everyone for the rp!

[15:56] Sylvi Amour: Be well

[15:56] Lαdץ Eđץth  Bαldяıη (edithester): (( night ))

[15:56] Kati Evans: Safe Paths, Lady Edyth

[15:56] Hendrix (malfaris.burner): (( sleep well! its a good debate for later))

[15:57] K A E L A (yenniferrivia): nighty night!))

[16:00] Velantha Lethara gathered her thoughts and exhaled slowly before she spoke, "Hendrix makes a fine point but to it I would say, the restriction of the magistrates to the control of the red caste and to men has only wrought corruption, disgrace for our caste." She paused, the time to be diplomatic was present, yet her convictions burned within her, "In the time I have lived her I have seen magistrates knowingly file false warrants, use violence and the threat of slavery to coerce false testimony, threaten those who report crimes with violence and imprisonment, and suggest flooding our streets with assassins. The system is broken and only serves to continue to shame our caste while those that have mismanaged it to an unthinkable degree claim they are not responsible. I will speak no more on this topic now but it is something to think on, whether or not to continue to allow those that have proven wildly incompetent to continue to march us all towards anarchy."

[16:02] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) offered a few nods and murmured acknowledgments to the scribes who had raised thoughtful comments regarding the magistrate appointments, as well as the proposed debate event. Looking directly to Lady Velantha, she would simply say, "Well spoken, Lady Velantha.  I look forward to this being spoken about more in that debate event that you are going to put together."  Once the questions began to settle and the room quieted once more, with more and more people taking their leave, she cleared her throat gently to bring the assembly’s attention back to the front.

“Before we move to conclude, I would like to acknowledge a very valid and timely matter brought forth recently by Magistrate Abraham,” she said, her tone respectful and composed. “He posed an important question regarding the current state of merchant fees, taxes, and city collections—a matter which, if left unattended, could lead to broader complications both within our caste's record keeping responsibilities and across the city’s economy

[16:02] K A E L A (yenniferrivia):  as a whole.”

She tapped the agenda scroll lightly with one hand.  “However, in the interest of time—and out of respect for the thoughtful deliberation this subject deserves—I would like to make a motion that we table this topic until our next scheduled meeting.”  Her eyes swept the room with a calm but purposeful gaze.

“This will allow us all time to review the current laws, gather relevant data, and come prepared for a productive discussion. I will see that it is placed as a primary agenda item moving forward.”  She gave a single decisive nod.  “Unless there are any immediate objections, we shall consider it tabled and open the floor for any new business?"

[16:03] Sylvi Amour while waiting for Velantha’s words she would comment softly, “we live under the protection of our Ubar. Under the carefully constructed laws and rules of our city. I think these women who wish to be magistrates must consider that their are other cities where their dreams can be realized, but Selnar’s laws should remain as it is. “

[16:03] Sylvi Amour: There*

[16:05] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) would nod his head. and would motion with his hand towards kaela, he was done on the topic for now

[16:05] Sylvi Amour: ((Sorry my screen did not show Velantha’s post))

[16:11] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) offered a warm, appreciative smile, her tone now gentle but full of pride.  “My fellow Scribes,” she began, “thank you. Truly.  This has been a long meeting, and yet you remained—attentive, engaged, and purposeful. Your presence here today, your voices, and your votes, all speak to the strength of our caste and the unwavering devotion each of you holds for the work we do.  We have raised great questions, given great answers, and have even greater ideas to ponder on."

She gestured briefly toward the apprentice still standing dutifully with the ballot box.  “For those who were unable to vote today, please know that the ballot box will remain open through the weekend. I encourage you to take the time you need and ensure your voice is counted. Every quill stroke matters.”

She then stepped forward slightly, hands gently outstretched.  “As we move forward—together—let us remain united not just by scroll and ink, but by the shared belief that the Blue Caste is the foundation upon which

[16:11] K A E L A (yenniferrivia):  order is built. Let us continue to show the city of Selnar what it means to stand as the highest of the high—not merely in intellect, but in integrity.”

Her voice softened just slightly as she looked across the chamber.  “I am proud of each and every one of you. And I thank you for your service, your courage, and your commitment."  With that, she gave a final nod, ringing the small bell once more to mark the end.  “This meeting is now formally closed.”

[11:07:51] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) entered the meeting room within the Caste Hall, the crisp rustle of parchment in her hands the only sound for a moment as she looked out upon the assembled members of the Blue Caste. A rare smile curved her lips as she took in the number gathered today — more than she had seen in some time. The rows were filled with Scribes of every rank and specialty, from Record Keepers to Advocates, and even a few of the more elusive Mapmakers.

"How good it is to see so many of you here today," she said, her voice clear and composed, carrying easily through the hall. "It is not often we gather in such number, and your presence speaks well of the strength and unity of our Caste."  Kaela gave a subtle nod to the scribe slave who had been waiting at the edge of the chamber. The girl stepped forward quietly, moving with purpose as she began to pass out neatly bound copies of the meeting agenda to each member present.

"As the beast distributes the agenda, I hereby call this meeting of the Scribe Caste to order. May our

discussion today be worthy of the ink that binds our Caste together — and may it serve the Home Stone of Selnar with clarity, diligence, and truth."  Her gaze lingered on Martellus, a dip of her head given to him out of respect  I had been a long time and she was glad to see him and then her gaze landed on Cornelius, surprise registering in her features.  "Cornelius!  You've made it back! " she exclaimed, relief obvious in her voice.

[11:09:45] ᴛʜᴀᴛ ғᴜɢʟʏ ʙɪᴛᴄʜ (vivavega) arrived for the meeting. The blonde, usually so assured and confident, the same woman that impulsively lifted her chin whenever anyone passed her by, appeared weary and forlorn. Without a word of greeting to anyone, she kept her gaze towards the floor and only used them to find a place next to Gloria but even her friend could not garner a gesture of greeting from her. Instead, she sat quietly, and placed her hands in her lap, fully prepared to listen, but perhaps take a backseat to the conversation at large.

[11:10:33] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) received the paper and unfurled it before offering a wan smile to feature upon his facial countenance. "Through earth and water, Lady Kaela, just like many survivors, some who are among us," he dipped his head slowly.

[11:10:51] Nicholas Sylvanus (nicholas.crisp) ensured the Lady Velantha was seated before he took his own place adjacent her. "Tal." he nodded to those present and, upon receiving the agenda, he studied the document, only looking up when the Lady Priscus referred to Cornelius.

[11:11:43] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) quietly reviewed the parchment that was set before her as she listened to conversations.

[11:11:52] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) took the agenda when handed to him but said nothing indeed he did not even look about at the any nor offered greetings

[11:13:19] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) smiled gently and dipped her head to him.  Obviously, both of them had been through hell and high water and yet, had come out on the other side.  "Good ... you can catch us up when we get to the new business," she said gently before glancing back to the agenda.  "Lady Velisara ... please, take a few moments and catch us up on the movement of the archives and documents, if you will?" she said, glancing back up to land her gaze on the archivist.

[11:13:37] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) once he received the agenda he would use the silence to review it.

[11:13:59] Martellus Balonius Scipio immediately reached for the stylus as he sat down, starting to pull it out of its holder so that he could use it like a stick to drum- but stopped and put it away. A deep breath entered his nostrils and held itself there, his fingers clasping together and fighting for control to see which would hold the other in a small fit of anxiety that played out underneath the table, hidden from view.

When he realized Kaela was looking at him, he nodded his head once in a quiet reply. He was no longer comfortable sitting regularly and so his foot naturally came up to rest on the cushion, knee pressed against the table casually and nonchalantly. Eventually, his hand made it out to flatten on the table, index finger tapping every now and again as he let his pale gaze wander around those gathered in the room.

[11:17:23] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) lifted her gaze at the sound of her name, the faintest crease forming between her brows behind the fine veil that draped her features. A subtle shift of weight, a tilt of her head, and though her posture remained composed, her eyes held a flicker of uncertainty.  She gave a small nod, her voice quiet but steady. “Assuming you meant Lady Velantha.”

[11:18:51] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) laughed gently at the correction, a small shake of her head.  "Forgive me ... I have not been sleeping well," she admitted, falling silent as she would nod her head and turn her gaze to Velantha..

[11:18:55] Velantha Lethara gave Kaela a curious look assuming that Kaela meant her. "Velantha," she said gently. By her reckoning Kaela had been through quite a lot during the course of the storm and she'd not make a fuss out of a simple mistake. "The weather continues to calm. So long as it continues to improve everything will be moved back into the library tomorrow under armed guard."

[11:23:47] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) nodded thoughtfully at Velantha’s words before adding in a composed tone, “You make a good point. With citizens still sleeping within the confines of the Scribe’s Hall, it is likely best they are not moved just yet. I have not yet received word on when the displaced will be relocated elsewhere, but until the waters recede, we may as well grow accustomed to this new norm.”

Kaela paused then, letting her gaze sweep across the gathered scribes, her tone firm yet encouraging. “During this time, it is important that we remain courteous, helpful, and patient. Let us use this temporary closeness to our advantage—make sure each person has completed a proper census and that our records are accurate and up to date. It may be the key to locating any additional citizens who are still unaccounted for.”

[11:25:54] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) listened quietly to Velantha's report and then to Kaela.  "The waters are starting to recede.  I was able to return to the other side of the city where my apartment is, but I am waiting on the builders to deem the area safe to fully return.  For now I think many are still housed in tents, if not housing with others on higher grounds."

[11:26:47] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) listened intently, narrowing his eyebrows. "Then we wait for the Builders to conduct their assessments, the refugees to return to their residence and once the Scribe's Hall is secured, the scrolls and artifacts return within our domain."

[11:30:14] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) nodded in agreement with Cornelius and then dipped her head to Velisara as she spoke.  "Agreed ... caution is still the top of our priority list right now.We must all acknowledge the simple truth — things are different now. The storm has shifted the rhythm of our city, and our Caste has not been spared from its effects. With displaced citizens sleeping beneath the very roof that houses our ledgers and law books, we have taken on a role far beyond that of record keepers. For now, we are also caretakers, hosts, and guardians of stability.  Even still, the work of the Blue Caste does not stop. We have duties to perform, scrolls to scribe, and laws to uphold. But it is not too early to begin looking ahead."

Kaela unrolled a scroll and held it up for emphasis. "If there is anything that needs to be added to the calendar for the remainder of the month — meetings, assignments, court proceedings, or caste lessons — now is the time to speak.  It is also likely, even amidst the chaos, that we may see an

influx of new citizens — refugees from outlying areas, professionals seeking order, or scribes looking for a city with need of their skills."  Kaela's gaze moved to the three individuals that were new among them.

"And on that note, it is my pleasure to formally welcome several new members to the Scribe Caste of Selnar. Please join me in welcoming Magistrate Nicholas Sylvanus, who brings with him a wealth of legal experience; Hendrix of the Wagons, newly sworn to the Blue and already serving in matters of diplomacy and foreign relations; and Lady Florence Peabody, a woman of letters and ink, whose talents will be a great asset to our written works."  She inclined her head respectfully toward the newcomers. "We are fortunate to have you among us, and I trust you will each find your place within the rhythm of this Caste — even if that rhythm feels a little different for now."

[11:31:58] Analise Bade (chaoticenvy) looked  around as Kaela introduced those all new to the caste, "welcome to all of you. I look forward to working with you all." She said simply making a few notes of who was doing what.

[11:34:39] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) dipped his head to Nicholas, Hendrix and Florence. "Our numbers grow and so too, our skills and reputation as scribes," he said. "You represent the caste of scribes in Selnar. Every mistake you make is a reflection on all of us. Too, your success is our's. Let not the bonds of this fellowship be broken in spite of our differences. We are caste brothers and sisters. Caste above all. So welcome."

[11:36:24] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) inclined her head in return, the faint glint of understanding in her eyes as Kaela spoke. There was truth in every word. The storm had shifted more than just stone and water. It had unsettled the rhythm of daily life, and yet, their Caste endured.  “Well spoken,” she said quietly. “We may bend beneath the weight of change, but we do not break. The scrolls remain, and so do we.”  Her gaze shifted briefly to the newly named scribes, offering each a calm nod of welcome.  “To those joining us, may your ink flow steady and your purpose find root. This city may feel uncertain, but you’ve stepped into something that still holds.”  A pause from her as she looked to Kaela again, "The plans of the Ink and Wine event, I have placed on hold until things settle and the city rebuilds.  It is only right to do so, so I will not add a date to the calendar just yet."  Hearing Cor speak then, she nodded in agreement.

[11:38:16] Nicholas Sylvanus (nicholas.crisp) nodded politely at the mention of his name. Of course he'd cast a curious glance in the direction of the one who'd mentioned wine. It was, after all, a hobby of his.

[11:38:23] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) blinked lazily as he listened he moved mostly to prove he was not asleep yet

[11:38:57] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) took a moment to look around the room to see who he knew and who he didn't Dipping his head respectfully at his introduction, though he would lean back and keep to silence for the moment.

[11:40:36] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) nodded to both Velisara's and Cornelius' words even as she glanced down at the agenda once more.  "Thank you, Lady Velisara.  I will make a note of that," she said, making some notes on her trust ledger that she carried everywhere.  And then, lifting her eyes to the assembled scribes, her tone shifting subtly, carrying a note of both curiosity and gravity.  "Before we move on," she said, "I would like to turn the floor over to one who has recently returned to us — Scribe Cornelius."  She gestured toward the older man with a respectful nod.

"Many of you have no doubt noticed his absence over the past weeks. I am hoping that he will take a moment to share where he has been and, more importantly, what he has discovered. The next item on the agenda — regarding the shaping of our historical records and the propagation of imperial narratives — is, in fact, something he had wished to bring before us even before the storm disrupted our city."  She glanced to Cornelius expectantly, stepping aside with a quiet rustle of robes in case he would want to speak from the podium, her expression expectant. "Cornelius, if you will?"

[11:50:07] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) made his way towards the lectern and he dipped his head to Kaela. The tapping of his ferule upon the timber resonated across the room and he turned to look at everyone carefully. "Prior to the significant precipitation that occurred over Cos, I was provided intelligence from a trusted source... of a research I have been conducting for almost my whole life," he began. "Some key signs we were able to divine and analyse resulted in me trekking through the Cosian wilderness. Fortuitous, perhaps is one word, that the rainfall and flooding revealed an escarpment that eases under the city we stand upon. A ruins ancient to behold. I am assembling a team to help me work on unconvering the path and entering the ruins itself. For that... we need the help of the High Council. I bring this to your attention as I... had to deal with the Cosian wilderness longer than expected and was delayed upon my return. Only to find that each and every one of you have suffered in their own trials and tribulations during this crisis." He paused, frowning slightly. "Even so, we must endure. I will speak with the Heads of Caste about my research, but it involves the tale of the Starstone, a rock that fell from the skies more than ten thousand years ago, beyond the Voltai. And a cult was formed. I expect the Initiates will try to stem my research, to be sure. We must ensure that does not happen. So I look to all of you to ensure our scholastic endeavours remains true to the Codes of the Scribes and not to others who wish to limit our knowledge." A grimace expressed itself upon his lips before he parted them. "For now though, we must work with the other castes in ensuring that the legacy of Selnar is laid across. Even in these tumultuous times, moments of grandeur and epic tales can be forged into immortality. We must be the heralds to ensure Selnar and the Ubar's legacy is potent against the other three cities. I leave it to each and every one of you to write something, within the bounds of your office, that contributes to this."  He then paused and looked around. "This is not an order, but a request. If you acquiesce to it, know that you fulfil the codes of your caste." He then turned to Kaela, dipping his head to her.

[11:54:07] Velantha Lethara raised a hand politely as Cornelius spoke

[11:54:22] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) arched an eyebrow at Velantha.

[11:55:26] Velantha Lethara was unsure of his arched brow but offered, "When you have the time I would speak with you on that topic."

[11:58:00] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) had remained quiet as Cor spoke, her hands resting lightly atop her ledger, the worn leather softened by years of use. Her eyes never left him as he moved to the lectern, and as his words unfolded, a stillness settled over her.  She opened to a fresh page, finding her ink-filled pen between them.  Quietly she began to write in Archaic Gorean.  Her way of ensuring that whatever was written would not be known to just anyone.  A skill that her Father had taught her at a very young age.  When he finished, Velisara spoke softly from her seat. She did not approach the lectern, nor did she raise her voice, but the room carried sound well, and her tone was clear.  “Your words carry weight, Tarrant. Not only for what they reveal of the past, but for what they demand of the present. Consider my interest piqued and my assistance in whatever I can do at the ready.”  She paused only long enough to let the words settle before continuing.  “The expectations of the Scribes were not written to preserve comfort.  They were written to preserve truth. If there is something beneath Selnar that threatens to be lost again to silence, then we must meet it with ink and record, with inquiry and resolve. Not fear.”  She had her own opinion of Initiates based on the history of Ar, but she did not speak further when hearing Velantha.

[12:01:48] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) dipped his head. "Of course," he replied to Velantha and dipped his head to Velisara as she spoke, a moment of ease among the two rivals. "For now though, our pursuits must be on the re-building of Selnar. While the physical aspirations of the city's repairs are on the shoulders of the Builders, Warriors and the Lower Castes, we must ensure the people of Selnar survive beyond. Write their stories, tally the populace and help in whatever shape or form you can offer. Let not your office limit your actions. These are special circumstances which call for special actions on our end. Now... I will move on the calling for new business from the floor. This is where any scribes present can bring up any items they wish to discuss that is of potent interest to all and respectful of our time and applicability."

[12:04:06] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) shifted uncomfortably when Cornelius mentioned not involving the initiates in such research. He had seen first hand how that ended.

[12:04:14] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) listened intently, arms folded gracefully as Cornelius began to recount his tale — not just of parchment and ink, but of peril, travel, and something that had clearly unsettled even a man of his seasoned years. His words painted a vivid picture of a harrowing expedition: lost records, cryptic symbols, strange movements in the hills, and the faint but undeniable whisper of something that could tie it all back to Cos itself.  Kaela's gaze grew thoughtful as he revealed that whatever he had uncovered did not merely end with him returning to Selnar — it had followed him. A quiet murmur passed through the gathered scribes, uneasy yet intrigued. And then came Velisara, her calm tone adding a layer of context, her observations lending credence to the idea that this mystery was not one born of fantasy, but of real and pressing consequence.

Inclining her head with solemn respect when both had finished. “It sounds most intriguing,” she said softly, her voice carrying through the hall with clarity. “And  I have no doubt that each one of us here will stand ready to support you, Cornelius, in whatever this endeavor becomes.  Please, keep us informed as your research unfolds. Specifics will help us know where we may be of most use — whether through maps, records, legal precedent, or even quiet observation.”

She turned back to the room as a whole as Cornelius opened the floor for any additional questions or new business. "While Cornelius’ findings are no doubt exciting — and may one day reshape what we know — we cannot allow ourselves to forget the now. The danger to our city and our citizens remains very real. Let us continue to be vigilant, supportive of one another, and tireless in our work.  Is there anything else the Caste needs to be made aware of? Anything we might have overlooked or forgotten to mention?”

[12:08:45] Velantha Lethara looked around the room and sighed she had no desire to speak up on the topic as it felt like it would never be addressed in a meaningful way but if no one else would give it voice she would, "I would know, once the city has been restored, what we as a caste plan to do to address the escalating instances of violence against free women in Selnar. A woman was very nearly slain just outside my apartmetn."

[12:10:53] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) upon hearing Velantha's question, her gaze would drift to both Cornelius and Drevan.  "I believe Magistrate Drevan might can answer this better than I?" she suggested.

[12:11:00] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) thought a moment with the final question from Kaela, but it was Velantha's words that had her attention drawn.  "Yes, it seems that the storms have scared off whoever has been doing such.  Perhaps they were swept away to the seas."  One could only hope. "But what if that is not the case?  I have lost my guards due to the storms, but I have ways of obtaining safety.  But what of those that cannot do the same?"

[12:11:48] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) held onto the pommel of his staff, frowning deeply at Velantha's words. "I personally spoke with the Praetor regarding the matter of security for the Scribes, in particular the Free Women," replied Cor. "I expect you all to have a guard at least, but the warriors have socialised the importance of more patrols. Magistrate Drevan, anything else to add here?"

[12:14:43] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) sat up and said " As matter of fact I do. And it is... less than normal in my approach. I had wanted to speak with you and Lady Kaela privately first. Gage your own thoughts on the matter first. That was delayed due to the Storms taking precedent. The real crux of the problem has been and continues to not to be that our Warriors do not care. They are over stretched. I have an... alternative method to seek those after the citizens of COs"

[12:15:20] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) frowned thoughtfully. "Oh?"

[12:15:43] Analise Bade (chaoticenvy)  shifted in her seat a bit.

[12:16:09] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) listened to Drevan, brows  furrowing slightly before she would glance to Cornelius but she would refrain from saying anything yet, letting the man take over.

[12:16:17] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) curiously lifted a brow, as she had spoken with a few warriors personally.

[12:17:13] Velantha Lethara nodded her head politely to both men.

[12:19:44] Martellus Balonius Scipio leaned back into the chair as he listened, no longer tapping her fidgeting too much as his focus had been truly occupied. His hands had settled neatly while he looked on and digested much of what was talked about. The meandering gaze of Martellus wandered around the room to those who spoke, silently curious at the very least.

[12:21:37] Nicholas Sylvanus (nicholas.crisp) had yet to review active cases, something on his agenda before the hand's end. As it had been mentioned, he reached for a quill and scribbled a memorandum to self regarding the safety of Selnar's women. Spreading sand across the ink, he fastidiously brushed it off once blotted and tucked the parchment away. Attention was then given to the man speaking. Nick, too, frowned, and retrieved the parchment to jot down more.

[12:22:15] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) looking at Cornelius and said " We may not be on the same terms we once were, but you know of whom I am thinking. The Assassins.. Their roles in Gorean society go so much father than simply taking life, though that is of course the role they are most known for. They can be paid to act as Mercanaries to protect our scribes, they can be paid to seek and find the ones that have already hurt Lady Winter, and Lady Sylvi. In their cases in particular I believe the culprit fled the Island before our Warriors could catch them. For better or worse that leaves them outside of our reach without risking are Warriors lives. I would not do that but I would have Justice and so I suggest the Old Justice of Gor be employed to resolve this matter." he was watching only Cor as he spoke and his voice was even and neutral through out his comments

[12:24:27] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) hearing about ancient ruins, and the chance to do research, research that would annoy the initiates. He listened to the talk and would raise his hand slightly.

[12:26:54] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) pursed his lips together and he nodded his head slowly to Drevan. "The matter of proposing a guardianship that would relegate the warriors from their responsibility and upkeep of the citizenry of Selnar to that of the Assassins, in pursuant to their skills as mercenaries, may not be in congruence with the Ubar, let alone the Warriors," he spoke evenly. "But the idea is not entirely unsound but would remain to be a private contract between the guarded and the guard. I would be uncomfortable sanctioning such a position from this caste on matters of martial law. I was provided surety from the Warriors that they would increase their patrols and ensure the women would feel safer." He paused, tapping his fingers along the pommel of his cane. "Nevertheless, Magistrate Drevan, let us discuss this further in private before we park this. For the minutes, I would greatly desire this not be added."

[12:27:55] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) tensed visibly at the mention of assassins, though she was quick to still her posture — back straight, hands calmly folded before her. Only those with keen eyes might have noticed the brief flicker in her expression, the way her gaze momentarily darkened with memory as she remained quiet, allowing the men to carry on this conversation.  The storm had brought many things — destruction, displacement, desperation — but that conversation with the hooded figure had left a different sort of mark. One not so easily washed away by receding floodwaters.

Kaela said nothing of it aloud, her lips pressed into a thoughtful line. Some truths, she knew, were better sifted through in silence. The investigative reporter in her was already stirring, questions forming faster than answers. Connections to chase, symbols to decode, whispers to follow.  And yet… whom could she trust?  Not many. Not yet. Not with a lead this fragile. One careless word could cost her the story — or worse, the trail.  For now, she would do what Scribes did best: observe, record, and wait and glanced to see if anyone else had anything else to say before their meeting would come to a close.

[12:29:03] Gloria Adrastus (gloria.evergarden) scratched the stylus into the wax, pressing each line as she listened to the conversations around her. A few things she would note were:

Cornelius mentions the StarStone. Ancient doom rock, cults and secrets, a good show.

Velisara, the voice of reason, will cite this in an essay later.

Kaela, professional mom energy, reminds us not to forget the city is literally falling apart.

Velisara hopes muggers were ocean casualties, realistic but savage.

Cornelius claims he talked to the Praetor, fancy name drop.

Gloria paused to underline, 'MANDATORY GUARD PLAN. Scribes=VIP.'

Carrying on she listened and scratched into the wax the following:

Drevan sits up and mentions less than normal ideas, Evil scientist vibe?

Analise looked uncomfortable, - Mood of the entire room.

Velantha: Being polite, suspiciously polite. Plotting?

She carried on scratching some more... for her own research purposes of course.

[12:29:58] Drevan of Cos (drevan.darkbyrd) nodding " Well, I would agree. And would have preferred speak with you and Kaela beforehand. Fate had other Ideas in mind. So yes I agree with you"

[12:30:13] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) remained quiet as Drevan spoke, his words clearly meant for Cor. Still, she listened closely as the weight of what was said settled into the room like dust after a long forgotten tome is opened. Hidden expression gave little away behind her veils yet her eyes still narrowed slightly with thought.  Assassins. Old Justice. Mercenary protection. Each term carried its own gravity.  She shifted her weight subtly, the ache in her ankle reminding her of the recent flood, of chaos not just in the streets but in the laws that held them all together. This was not just a matter of vengeance. It touched the deeper threads of caste, reach, and power.  Though she did not speak, her gaze drifted briefly to Cor, quietly gauging his reaction.

The request to not have this subject matter not added to the minutes was heard, and she would make a few notes of her on in Archaic Gorean in her private ledger.  Through it all, only a small nod of head in acknowledgment of the words was given, but whether she agreed or not was yet to be determined.

[12:31:09] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) looked around. "The ahn lengthens," he said. "Anyone else has anything to raise?"

[12:32:21] Velisara Venetari (morrigan.evergarden) shook her head, "I have nothing further to add."

[12:32:24] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) looked to Hendrix expectantly.

[12:32:43] ᴛʜᴀᴛ ғᴜɢʟʏ ʙɪᴛᴄʜ (vivavega) kept her face cast down towards the table in front of her.

[12:32:57] Hendrix (malfaris.burner) having listened he put his hand down and shook his head, he had nothing further to add to the docket

[12:33:22] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) turned to Kaela.

[12:33:44] Gloria Adrastus (gloria.evergarden) looked at Aurelia, was she... sleeping?

[

[12:35:26] Nicholas Sylvanus (nicholas.crisp) kept his own set of notes, and he wouldn't strike out the suggestion. "Nothing to add." he spoke as he blotted ink one last time, rolled his parchment tightly, then tucked it away.

[12:35:28] Martellus Balonius Scipio seemed to be lost in a thought otherwise, but shook his head soon enough; nothing to add.

[12:36:04] Velantha Lethara quietly took notes and looked up, "Nothing to add."

[12:37:12] ᴛʜᴀᴛ ғᴜɢʟʏ ʙɪᴛᴄʜ (vivavega) was not sleeping.

[12:38:52] Florence Peabody: I wish to thank all of you for the welcome to the Scribes in Selnar *she smiles and remains quiet*

[12:40:02] K A E L A (yenniferrivia) allowed the silence to stretch for just a moment too long, the weight of recent revelations pressing heavily upon the room. The air felt taut — not with panic, but with a shared, unspoken unease. Even among Scribes, who prided themselves on logic and precision, the mention of assassins and hidden agendas had shifted the atmosphere.  Still, her voice was steady when she finally spoke, though softer now, almost reverent.

“Well then… if there is nothing further.”  She drew in a breath, her tone sharpening slightly with the return of formality.  “We shall adjourn for now. I thank each of you for your presence today — for your diligence, your discretion, and your continued commitment to our Caste and to Selnar. These are uncertain days… but we are not without purpose. Nor without tools.”

She gave a pointed glance to the scrolls and ledgers around them.  “We are the keepers of truth — and it is in truth that our city finds its foundation.”  Dipping her head respectfully, she said, “This meeting is now concluded. Walk with care… and keep your ink sharp.”

[12:41:12] Cᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜs Aʟᴏʏsɪᴜs Tᴀʀʀᴀɴᴛ (trenzos.dyrssen) dipped his head to Kaela. "My thanks for leading this, Lady," he stated, leaning heavily on his staff. "I shall now retire and we shall speak more at a later time. I wish you all well."
